A poetic design system that transforms each scent into a refined gift, blending nostalgia, artistry, and serenity within modern living
(CHALLENGES) While LJDS products are premium in both formulation and intent, their packaging had yet to fully capture the poetic charm and gifting experience the brand aimed to deliver. The challenge was to create a packaging system that embodies the brand’s philosophy “Each product is the aromatic gift”, while evoking French sophistication, artistic legacy, and a sense of personal ritual. Layơ Lab was entrusted to bring this message to life through design.
• Packaging Strategy • Product Design • Visual Design • Production

We envisioned LJDS packaging as a sensorial journey—a refined gift of fragrance wrapped in emotion, discovery, and art. The design not only contains the product, but presents it as an experience to be unwrapped, remembered, and shared.
(BIG IDEA) Drawing from the concept of “the aromatic gift,” we created a foldable packaging structure inspired by traditional gift wrapping techniques. Each box becomes a personal treasure, holding within it not only scent, but sentiment. To deepen the emotional layer, each scent is paired with a work from renowned French painter Claude Monet, his soft brushwork and impressionist palette echoing the feeling of each fragrance. Artworks are adorned with dotted motifs resembling blooming fields and diffusing scent molecules, adding both tactility and metaphor. This design invites users to pause, touch, and slowly unveil, a moment of mindfulness in every unboxing.

The packaging strikes a balance between classic elegance and modern simplicity, combining French artistry with a sensory-driven design language.
(PACKAGING) The palette leans into softness, subtle pastels, off-whites, and organic tones that honor the natural ingredients of LJDS scents. Each package features layered folds reminiscent of a wrapped gift, reinforced with a black sticker tape that bears the LJDS logotype as a seal of sincerity. Inside, Monet’s paintings bloom behind microperforated edges, inviting interaction. The bottle is topped with a wax seal, reinforcing the idea of preciousness and care. Concentric dotted accents mirror floral fields and drifting aroma, making the visuals both poetic and suggestive of scent in motion.
